Product Description

Vetorep CR526 is a single component polymer modified fibered cementitious structural repair mortar that is ready to use and only requires the addition of water on site. Once mixed the products becomes a thixotropic mortar that is hand applied for the repair of demanding structural repair while being compatible with host concrete. Vetorep CR526 is composed of a blend of hydraulic cements, carefully selected and graded aggregates, fibers and special additives to give it its unique properties.

Advantages
  • Easy to use single component product.
  • High physical and mechanical properties.
  • Extremely low permeability providing reinforcement protection against corrosion as well as resistance to ingress of contaminants.
  • Non-Shrink properties ensuring repair dimensional stability.
  • Suitable for internal and external applications.
  • Breathable, compatible to host concrete.
  • Thixotropic properties allowing high build up in vertical and overhead repairs.
Compiliance Standard
  • ASTM C157/157M-08e1
  • EN 13062:2003

Shelf Life & Storage

Original sealed kits of Vetorep CR526 has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry and shaded temperature controlled place <35ºC.
Vetorep CR526 repair area should not exceed 2.5 m2 in single application.

Application Information
Instructions for use

Substrate
All damaged and weak concrete should be cut back to reach sound concrete and/or to a minimum depth of at least 10 mm.
Corroded steel reinforcement should be grit blasted to remove all rust traces. In case of significant loss in the steel reinforcement cross section, the steel should be replaced. Remove all concrete form around exposed steel reinforcements by 25 mm thickness. The perimeters of the repair area should be saw cut to a minimum depth of 10 mm. The prepared area should be cleaned thoroughly by brush and/or compressed air.

Priming
All grit blasted steel reinforcements should be primed within 2 to 4 hours with one or two coats of zinc rich urethane primer Vetoprime UP310.
Areas to be repaired with Vetorep CR526 should be soaked with clean water before applying the repair mortar. All excess water should be removed prior to applying one coat of acrylic bonding agent Vetobond AB432.
Vetobond AB432 should be allowed to become tacky before applying the repair mortar.

Mixing
To ensure proper mixing, a mechanically powered mixer or drill fitted with suitable paddle should be used. 2.8 to 3 liters of clean water should be added to a clean container.
The powder is then added slowly to the water while mixing continuously with low speed mixer/drill (400 - 600 rpm). Mixing time should be continued for 5 minutes until uniform consistency is obtained.

Placing and Finishing
Vetorep CR526 can be applied by trowel or hand. The mixed mortar should be applied using firm pressure to fully compact the mortar and ensure good adhesion with the steel reinforcements and the substrate. Finishing and leveling should be carried out initially by wooden or plastic float. Final finishing should be carried out using steel float.

Curing
As Vetorep CR526 is a cementitious based material, it should be cured in a similar manner to concrete. Curing can be conducted using Vetobond AB432 or by continuous watering and covering with polyethylene sheets.

Cleaning
All tools should be cleaned immediately after application using fresh water. Hardened materials must be cleaned mechanically.
