Advanced modified cementitious light weight, thermal insulating masonry mortar
Cool Mortar is a cement based mortar composed of hydraulic binders, selected aggregates, light weight particles and high performance additives. It is supplied as a dry powder in pre-weighed bags ready to use on site, which requires only addition of clean water to produce cohesive mortar. It is a premium quality product containing special adhesion additive. Cool Mortar will enable sandwich block to achieve the required U-value by eliminating thermal bridge phenomenon. The product provides thermal insulation for building wall sections relying on advanced material technologies.
Cool Mortar is supplied in 20 Kg Bag (23.5 Liters)
Coverage:
Original sealed bags of Cool Mortar has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry shaded place below 25ºC.
Mixing
Add to the mixing container 5.8 to 6.6 litres of water for each 20 Kg bag of Cool Mortar. Add the powder to the water and mix with a mechanical plaster mixer or low speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle for 3-4 minutes, until a uniform, lump-free consistency is achieved.
Leave the mixed material to stand for 10 min and briefly remix without addition of water.
Manual mixing is allowed for small batch quantities by mixing for approx. 1-2 min, or when homogenous mix is achieved.
Application
Saturate the block surface with water before applying mortar. Any excess water should be removed.
Cool Mortar is spread with trowel on the surface and joints where the blocks are to be mounted.
Fill joint in similar way as conventional sand/cement mortar.
After stiffening, Cool Mortar should be given a final smoothing to remove protrusions and eliminates undulations.
Curing
Cool Mortar is a cementitious product and accordingly should be cured to recommended ACI and international curing practices.
Cleaning
All tools should be cleaned immediately after finishing by water. Hardened materials can be cleaned mechanically.
The substrate should be sound, clean, free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt, curing compound, etc.
Prior to Cool Mortar application, wet the entire surfaces with clean potable water and surface should look damp at the time of Cool Mortar application.
Cool Mortar is highly alkaline therefore avoid direct contact with eyes or skin. It is recommended to use protective gloves and goggles during application. Any skin contact should be wash with soap & water. In case of eyes irritation, immediately wash with copious amount of clean cold water. Seek medical advice.
Cool Mortar is non-flammable.
