Technical Information
Product Description

Vetograin is specially formulated anti-slip aggregate designed to elevate the foot or wheel on a damp or wet surface, permitting the water to escape instead of causing the foot or wheel to hydroplane. Composed of silica sand, which is very hard, and angular and blocky in shape, this aggregate provides long term durability and excellent slip resistant features.

Design Criteria

Slip resistant aggregates can be obtained in a range of sizes from fine through to coarse. The choice of aggregate can depend on the type of coating and also on the degree of slip resistance required. Finer grades of aggregate are conventionally used in thinner coatings, where coarser grades have a tendency to ball up. Coarser grades are more suitable for thicker coatings, where the finer grades would get lost in the coating hence reducing their effectiveness. Coarser grades are generally more suitable for achieving high levels of slip resistance.

The Selected Vetograin aggregates is broadcasted on to the first rolled coat of Saveto resin flooring whilst it is still wet. Sufficient Vetograin anti-slip aggregates should be applied in to completely cover the surface.
When the first coat has dried, the excess aggregate can be removed by brushing or vacuum off the substrate and provided it is still clean and dry can be re-used.
Vetograin should be applied vertically into the resinous flooring to avoid damaging the film continuity of the flooring.
